Contemporary art finds its greatest strength when it becomes a place of encounter: between cultures and generations, between individual research and collective memory, between the permanence of history and the urgency of the present. The Art Collection – Third Edition embraces this vision by bringing together a selection of international artists whose diverse practices converge in a shared exploration of identity, perception and transformation.
Set within the evocative spaces of the Torre delle Arti in Bellagio—a restored medieval tower overlooking the shores of Lake Como—the exhibition establishes a dialogue between ancient architecture and contemporary artistic languages. Painting, photography and mixed media coexist in an exhibition that encourages visitors to move beyond stylistic boundaries and engage with art as an open conversation.
This year’s edition features the works of Silvano Mantegazza, whose innovative thermal photography challenges conventional ways of seeing; Mary Lipian, whose refined visual language explores the emotional dimension of form and colour; Gerard Mursic, creator of poetic landscapes suspended between memory and imagination; Arkadiusz Kropkowski, whose expressive painting reflects a deeply personal and symbolic vision; Calypso Sigaldi, whose multidisciplinary practice investigates identity and contemporary narratives; and Tara whose artistic research explores the relationship between the body, water, memory and transformation.
On 30 May in Menaggio, Tara’s artwork Body of Water received Second Prize at the 15th Franca Panizza Painting Competition, organized by Artelario in Menaggio. This important recognition confirms the strength of an artistic practice in which water becomes both a natural element and a symbolic space: a fluid dimension where identity, emotions and personal memories emerge, dissolve and are continuously reshaped.
Rather than presenting isolated artistic experiences, The Art Collection proposes a constellation of independent yet interconnected voices. Each artwork contributes to a broader reflection on humanity, landscape and the role of artistic creation in interpreting our rapidly changing world.
In the unique atmosphere of Bellagio, where history, nature and culture have inspired generations of artists and travellers, the exhibition becomes more than a showcase: it is an invitation to experience Lake Como as a living cultural landscape, where contemporary creativity continues to find fertile ground for dialogue, discovery and international exchange.
